Listen for Rasta Taco’s special KCRW spots during the “All Things Considered” program from 3:00pm to 7:00pm rush hour drive time on KCRW 89.9 during this time. Rasta Taco is proud to support local public radio like KCRW.

During a trip to Jamaica, Orange County-native Mario Melendez found himself longing for traditional Mexican food. Inspired by this craving for tacos and delicious Jamaican roadside chicken stands, Melendez came back to Orange County and founded Rasta Taco in 2007. Rasta Taco is the original, on-site gourmet mobile taco catering company that features mouth-watering gourmet tacos that fuse the best of Mexican and Jamaican cuisine with the laid-back aesthetic of the reggae lifestyle and the thrill of Southern California athletics.

Partnered with Justin Prietto of Huntington Catering Company in Pasadena, Rasta Taco is a pioneer in connecting with the community through social media. Their online presence includes Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and other sites to uniquely profile the catering industry.

Rasta Taco’s unique vibe and delicious food have built a loyal following in Southern California, particularly among surfing and skating stars. Partnerships with brands like Hurley and Quiksilver, as well as work with community organizations like the Surfrider Foundation are what distinguish Rasta Taco as a Southern California gourmet taco institution.
